GEB Tower

Noise nuisance

It must be quiet before 8:00 and after 22:00. However, you should also not cause a noise nuisance between these times. Living takes precedence over pleasure. If you are throwing a party, warn your immediate neighbours, those across the street, below you and above you. Leave your phone number so they can reach you if they experience a nuisance. In the event of a noise nuisance, you can always try speaking to the person responsible about it. Also inform the property manager in the event of a nuisance, as they act as a mediator. When the situation is extreme, we recommend calling the police and sending an email to the property manager. Do not take unnecessary risks. Noise nuisance includes, among other things: loud music, loud talking (shouting), DIY work, slamming doors. If the situation does not improve, it is best to send an email to Stadswonen Rotterdam. They will address the person responsible.

Zero tolerance litter policy

In the GEB tower, a strict zero tolerance policy is applied regarding rubbish. This policy is essential to ensure that the living environment remains clean and pleasant for all residents. Concretely, this means that both the residents' committee and the executive board are authorised to impose fines (amounting to €25) on residents who fail to follow the correct method of waste disposal. In addition, this rule also applies to the placement of bicycles, cupboards, furniture and other items in the corridors. It is important that the corridors are kept free of obstacles at all times, so that smooth passage is guaranteed for everyone and potential safety risks are avoided. Through this strict compliance with the policy, a harmonious and orderly living environment is promoted, in which all residents can enjoy a pleasant and comfortable living atmosphere.

Keep the entrances and exits clear

It is strictly forbidden to block the entrances and exits of the GEB tower with people, bicycles, cars or other obstacles. Gathering in groups near the entrances is not permitted. This policy is essential to ensure a smooth flow of residents and visitors and for safety in emergency situations. Maintaining freely accessible entrances and exits is of great importance for the efficient use of the facilities and the avoidance of congestion. Let us work together to maintain a safe and smooth living environment, in which the entrances and exits are always clear and accessible to everyone.

Responsible for your guests

Residents bear the responsibility for ensuring that visitors, guests and friends behave in an appropriate manner. In the event of misconduct, such as noise or damage, the resident will be held primarily responsible. It is of great importance that residents take proactive action to prevent unwanted behaviour and maintain harmony within the residential community. By creating awareness and giving guests clear guidelines on behaviour, problematic situations can be avoided. Residents are the first line in guaranteeing a safe and pleasant living environment, in which everyone takes responsibility for the behaviour of their visitors.

Animals

Stadswonen Rotterdam has determined that residents in high-rise buildings, where shared accommodation is located, are not permitted to keep pets. In low-rise buildings, where self-contained properties are located, pets are allowed on condition that the tenants' association grants permission for this and that the animals do not cause a nuisance, such as noise disturbance or urinating in communal areas. These rules have been established to guarantee a harmonious residential community and to ensure that residents in high-rise buildings do not experience any hindrance from pets, while residents in low-rise buildings have the opportunity to keep pets provided certain conditions are met.

Washes

To use the laundry room, you are required to sign up via the laundry schedule on the website. It is important to be on time, because if you are more than a quarter of an hour late, someone else can take over your wash slot. The complete laundry regulations are available in the laundry room itself. Make sure you are aware of the rules to ensure smooth and fair access to the laundry facilities. By signing up and respecting the regulations, all residents can make efficient use of the laundry room and avoid any conflicts.

Doors closed

It is essential that internal doors are kept closed at all times for fire safety. Leaving access doors open unattended is strictly prohibited, including the use of an object such as a brick to keep the door open. These measures are crucially important to ensure the safety of residents and to limit the spread of fire and smoke in the event of a fire. It is important that everyone takes responsibility and ensures that doors are always closed, which contributes to a safe living environment for everyone.

Smoking

It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the hallways, stairwells or communal areas. Smoking is only permitted in the privacy of your own room. This rule is in force to guarantee the safety and comfort of all residents, as well as to prevent potential fire hazards. By smoking in your own room you contribute to a healthy and pleasant living environment for everyone. Let us work together to respect the smoking ban and to ensure a pleasant and safe living environment for all residents.

Hygiene inspection

The management board and the residents' committee are responsible for carrying out annual hygiene inspections. The purpose of these inspections is to check the hygienic conditions in the residents' units and studios. During this inspection, specific attention is paid to compliance with hygiene regulations and standards. Any defects or shortcomings are identified and, if necessary, appropriate measures are taken to improve hygiene. These inspections are essential to ensure that the living environment remains clean and healthy for all residents. Ensuring good hygiene contributes to the well-being and quality of the residential area.
